The function inquiry focuses on the business organization's function in fulfilling its purpose in its environment. It inquires on the business organization from the perspective of function, as defined by the function aspect and seeks to define the business model elements as defined by the function architecture. The definition of the business model elements is not limited to those of the function architecture, as all the elements of the business model should have some relationship to its function.
