Definition

The view of the world that takes account only of natural elements and forces, excluding the supernatural or spiritual. The belief that all phenomena are covered by laws of science and that all teleological explanations are therefore without value. -- naturalism. Dictionary.com. Dictionary.com Unabridged (v 1.1). Random House, Inc. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/naturalism (accessed: February 02, 2007).

Naturalism fits with objectivity and science. This is in contrast to humanism and subjectivity (subjective).

See teleology.
