Definition

An ideal is a conception something that is perfect; a standard of perfection or excellence. It is related to purpose. Purpose seeks the achievement of an ideal, but because an ideal by definition is unachievable, it is the pursuit of the ideal that becomes the central unifying and motivating force of an organization.

See the Stacey section of values.
